Job Vacancy: School Kitchen Assistant
Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday term time only)
Salary: Actual salary £16,977 Grade 2 SCP 3-6
We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Assistant to join the kitchen supervisor in delivering
nutritious, high-quality meals in a vibrant school environment. We are looking for a team player who
will work effectively with colleagues and school staff to support the "whole school approach" to
food.
The Role
You will play a key part in the daily operation of our kitchen. Your duties will include food
preparation, home-made baking of desserts, maintaining a safe, "clean-as-you-go" environment,
adhering to all food safety standards, and ensuring a full clean down of the kitchen after service to
the 5 star standard.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Experience: Experience working in a commercial catering environment.
Qualifications: A valid Level 2 Food Safety certificate.
Technical Knowledge: Evidenced knowledge and application of Environmental Health
standards.
Allergens: Strong working knowledge of food allergens and the procedures for safe
identification and preparation.
Desirable experience:
Previous experience working specifically within a school catering operation
