SEND Hub Teacher
Job Reference 838/2844
Job Introduction
This is a chance to be part of something that could genuinely change children’s experiences of education.
In September 2026, we will open our brand-new SEND Hub provision - a significant and exciting step in our commitment to ensuring every child receives the education, care and sense of belonging that they deserve. We are seeking an exceptional teacher to help shape this provision from the very beginning and play a leading role in an important new chapter for our school community.
This is more than a teaching role. It is an opportunity to build a provision that will genuinely transform children’s experiences of school: creating a space where pupils with a range of additional needs feel valued, understood and able to thrive both academically and personally, whilst remaining fully part of our caring village school community.
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about inclusion and understands that meaningful progress comes through relationships, consistency, high expectations and a deep understanding of individual pupils. The successful candidate will work closely with our SENDCo, two full-time Teaching Assistants, families and external professionals to create a provision where children feel supported, successful and able to flourish.
The Hub will support pupils with a range of SEND needs and therefore we are seeking someone who is adaptable, resilient and able to respond creatively to the varying barriers pupils may face in their learning and development. This role will be both rewarding and demanding and will suit someone who is deeply committed to improving outcomes for children with SEND.
This role will suit someone who:
• has experience working with pupils with SEND, either within specialist or mainstream settings
• is committed to inclusive practice and believes every child deserves a sense of belonging
• can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
• is resilient, patient and solution-focused
• understands that supporting pupils with SEND can be both highly rewarding and highly demanding
• has high aspirations for pupils academically, socially and emotionally
• can work collaboratively as part of a team whilst also leading provision confidently
• values nurture, consistency and relational practice
• has a brilliant sense of humour
The successful candidate will:
• lead teaching and learning within the SEND Hub
• deliver highly adaptive teaching to meet a range of needs
• create a calm, structured and nurturing environment
• support pupils’ academic, emotional and social development
• work closely with the SENDCo and external agencies
• support effective transition and inclusion across the wider school
• contribute to the development of the provision as it grows
In return, we can offer:
• the opportunity to shape and develop a brand-new SEND provision
• a welcoming and supportive village school community
• a strong inclusive ethos where relationships matter
• dedicated support from the SENDCo and leadership team
• two full-time Teaching Assistants within the Hub
• opportunities for high-quality professional development
• a caring team who continually excel at what they do
Visits to the school are encouraged and welcomed.
The Edward Richardson Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
