Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a Senior Estates Surveyor to play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing a varied and high-profile property portfolio. This is a senior position within our Corporate Property team, offering the opportunity to influence strategic estate decisions while leading a team and delivering high-impact projects.
The Role
As a Senior Estates Surveyor, you will:
- Lead on complex estates and valuation projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality standards
- Manage and support a team of surveyors, driving performance and professional standards
- Take a key role in disposals and acquisitions, leading negotiations and advising senior stakeholders
- Oversee lease events, including rent reviews, renewals and break options
- Provide strategic valuation advice for financial reporting, rating and council tax matters
- Lead on compensation negotiations, including Compulsory Purchase and related claims
- Support the Council’s Corporate Landlord function, ensuring effective estate management and compliance
- Prepare and present reports to senior officers and elected Members
- Deputise for the Estates Team Leader when required
You will also contribute to wider asset management initiatives, working collaboratively across services and with external partners such as NHS Trusts and District Councils.
About You
We are looking for a confident and commercially minded professional who can operate at both strategic and operational levels.
You will have:
- MRICS qualification (essential) and Registered Valuer status (desirable)
- Strong experience in general practice surveying, including valuations, landlord & tenant, acquisitions and disposals
- A track record of leading negotiations and delivering complex property transactions
- Experience managing staff or mentoring colleagues
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Sound knowledge of RICS, CIPFA and IFRS standards
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
